Description
The Sand Gardeners are a casual cross-channel collective currently comprising conceptual artist Sam Machell and visual programmer Colin le Duc. They are interested, varyingly, in lost futures, haunted texts, and psychedelic memories of abandoned worlds. They have exhibited work internationally, across the fields of video games, playful installation, and visual art.
History
Early historySam is a UK-based Fine Art student working across multiple mediums, including experimental writing, performance, and installation. Colin is a programming graduate based in France, interested in cute indie games and interactive experiences. Sam and Colin formed under the name Sand Gardeners when they started working together on game jams. For a little over a year they would release short narrative games and experiments, blurring the lines between mediums and their shared interests. Their games all exist within the same surreal and mysterious world, the world of Brownie Cove, and share characters, places and stories.
After thatNow they're focusing on releasing their first commercial project, Brownie Cove Express, the culmination of all their work so far. Continuing to explore the shared universe established in their previous games, and delving into the lives of the strange folk who live there.
